About this event

In recent years, there has been a growing international interest in the implementation of No Hit Zones as a pivotal strategy to mitigate a key risk factor associated with child abuse and to proactively prevent a key risk factor for child mal-treatment. This webinar delves into the concept of No Hit Zones, shedding light on their significance, effective training components, empirical research supporting their implementation, and practical solutions for overcoming common barriers. Attendees of the session will gain insights into how to set up this simple, low-cost solution to a complex risk factor.

The presentation begins by elucidating the core principles of No Hit Zones and how they contribute to reducing the risk of child abuse. Rooted in the belief that violence is never an acceptable form of discipline, No Hit Zones advocate for nurturing environments that prioritize positive and non-violent approaches to child rearing. The concept extends beyond the confines of the home, encompassing hospitals, clinics, counseling agencies, schools, advocacy centers, home visiting programs, youth-serving agencies, and public spaces.
The session on No Hit Zones explores a simple and promising solution in the collective mission to prevent child abuse and violence against children. By illustrating the principles, offering evaluated training components, reviewing the empirical evidence, and providing practical solutions, the presentation seeks to inspire and equip professionals and individuals to champion the cause of No Hit Zones.
